One of the things I’ve been wondering about this new X-FILES movie is whether or not Robert Patrick or Annabeth Gish – who played Agent Doggett and Agent Reyes, respectively – were going to be in the cast. It shouldn’t be forgotten that they were essential characters toward the end of the series’ run – and we haven’t heard jack-squat about them in relation to this film…
Well, they’ve been forgotten – or at least thrown by the wayside. X-Files News is claiming that Gish has stated to a source that neither she nor Patrick will be appearing in the movie – although director Chris Carter apparently told her that if “the second movie does well, she’ll be in the next one.”
Since those characters were brought in to offset the absence of David Duchovney and to give Gillian Anderson some time off, it doesn’t seem like they’ll be missed. Little is known about the film – which is shooting under the fake title DONE ONE – but expect more details, and pictures, to emerge as the July 25 release date nears.
