You guys remember way back in May, when we told you that Ving Rhames and Paul Scheer would be returning for John Gulager’s PIRANHA 3DD? Now that news left a lot of us scratching our heads considering it was pretty apparent Rhames’ character had become fish food in the first film.. but alas apparently he somehow survived, and was left with one hell of a phobia!
You see Star News Online caught up with funnyman Paul Scheer to talk about the upcoming return of FX’s “The League” and the site decided to ask Scheer about the PIRANHA sequel. Now while we don’t get any word on how Rhames (above), or Scheer for that matter, survived, we are offered some insight as to where we’ll see the characters in this sequel.
Apparently Scheer’s ‘Drew Cunningham’ and Rhames’ ‘Deputy Fallon’ have bonded because of the first film and have seemed to become best buds, with Scheer desperate to help Rhames overcome his newfound fear of the water. This journey takes the two to a nearby waterpark where things quickly start going south…
“I’m trying to get him back into the water … things go wrong. … It’s almost like short film throughout the movie. It’s our little journey. We don’t interact with any of the other main characters – just us on this crazy journey during a piranha attack.”
So there you have it. PIRANHA 3DD is set to chomp it’s way into theaters November 23rd with a cast that includes Scheer, Rhames, Danielle Panabaker, Christopher Lloyd, Katrina Bowden (below), Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, David Koechner, Gary Busey and David Hasselhoff.
