For months now, as we’ve learned more and more about Pedro Almodovar’s trippy thriller THE SKIN I LIVE IN (check out the teaser trailer HERE), we’ve been under the impression that it was to be released this November in North America. Not sure how that misconception began (maybe I started it?), but no matter; we finally have a firm release date for the Sony Pictures release.

THE SKIN I LIVE IN will hit NY and LA theaters beginning on OCTOBER 7th. Naturally, there will be a roll out in the following weeks (cities TBD), but at least now we know when to expect the flick. As its Almodovar’s unconventional stab at the horror genre, it’s fitting that it’ll be in theaters when Halloween comes around. (It still appears as though the film is due to come out on AUGUST 26th in the UK.)

Ever since his wife was burned in a car crash, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, has been interested in creating a new skin with which he could have saved her. After twelve years, he manages to cultivate a skin that is a real shield against every assault. In addition to years of study and experimentation, Robert needed a further three things: no scruples, an accomplice and a human guinea pig. Scruples were never a problem. Marilia, the woman who looked after him from the day he was born, is his most faithful accomplice. And as for the human guinea pig…

THE SKIN I LLIVE IN star, Elena Anaya
