The most iconic line in the 1989 film adaptation of Stephen King's novel PET SEMATARY was delivered by Fred Gwynne in the role of Jud Crandall. The story centers on a burial ground that will resurrect whatever dead thing is buried there, and Jud is explaining that putting a person in that burial ground is a very bad idea because "the person you put up there ain't the person that comes back". As Jud says,
"Sometimes, dead is better."
It's a line that the marketing department is wisely using to promote the upcoming PET SEMATARY remake. A poster for the remake has been released, and that line is prominently featured as the tagline.
Directed by the STARRY EYES duo of Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, the new version of PET SEMATARY was written by Jeff Buhler. The film stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, Hugo Lavoie, Lucas Lavoie, Jeté Laurence, Obssa Ahmed, and Alyssa Brooke Levine, with John Lithgow as Jud Crandall.

Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home.
