Peter Stormare, one of the most entertaining character actors working in film today, has joined WELCOME TO PURGATORY, an action-horror film taking place in the Afterlife. WELCOME TO PURGATORY is being produced by Scott Spiegel (HOSTEL III, EVIL DEAD II)and directed by Gene Fallaize.

WELCOME TO PURGATORY follows three new arrivals – Willis, Taylor, and Danni – as they navigate this fresh vision of the Afterlife, helped along the way by trusty Guardian Paul. They find the afterlife in ruins amidst a growing war between Good and Evil. All the rules of the Afterlife have been broken, and they must find a way to make things right before Heaven is ruined for the rest of time.

This isn’t Stormare’s first time playing in the world of the Afterlife: he portrayed Lucifer in CONSTANTINE. In addition, he had memorable appearances in FARGO, ARMAGEDDON, 8MM, HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS, THE LAST STAND, THE LOST WORLD and our very own AITH Podcast. (Seriously, listen to that one.) The list really does go on and on.

Stormare joins Bruce Campbell, James Buckley, Jack O’Halloran, Jillian Murray, Nathan Jones and Tory Kittles in WELCOME TO PURGATORY, which begins filming in early 2015.
