Way back in September 2009 we last heard about a dark comedy heading our way called LUCKY. You guys remember that? It was a flick about a wannabe serial killer who wins the lottery. Ringing any bells? Well let me catch you guys up!

You see news breaking over at The Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Business blog has Phase 4 Films snatching up rights to the flick. Well it’s about time! The film is set to have its world premiere at the Dallas International Film Festival this week with a theatrical and video-on-demand release planned for this Summer.

LUCKY is the story of a young man who wins the lottery and pursues his dream girl while trying to hide his ambitions as a serial killer.

Colin Hanks stars in the film as our wannabe killer. Joining Hanks (above) in LUCKY is Ari Graynor (below), Jeffrey Tambor and Ann-Margret. Gil Cates Jr. is directing. Check out what Phase 4 president and CEO Berry Meyerowitz had to say regarding LUCKY:

““Lucky is thrilling, disturbing, and hilarious all at the same time. It is one of the most original films I have seen in a while, and we are excited to bring the picture to audiences across the U.S. and Canada.””

Sounds good to me! Be sure to keep it here for more news on LUCKY as it heads our way.
