Well folks PIRANHA 3D is getting ready to come at us in just over a month and the waters are just now starting to churn. The past week or so we’ve been bombarded with PIRANHA updates regarding Comic-Con and new posters. The train doesn’t stop there though because today I’ve got a couple more PIRANHA 3D updates! Are you ready for this?

Alright, you probably are ready for it and won’t even find this very exciting but the first TV spot for PIRANHA 3D has made it’s way online. Earlier this week ESPN held their annual ESPY Awards and during the event we got our first glimpse of PIRANHA action on TV. Someone was kind enough to snatch that shite up and slap it on YouTube so I’ve tossed the video up below for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

We’ve also got another update regarding the ongoing ‘PIRANHA 3D pulled from Comic-Con’ debacle. If you were worried we’d have to wait a while to see the intriguing footage, then worry no longer! The guys over at ShockTillYouDrop got their hands on a press release stating that the PIRANHA 3D footage will still be shown, just at a different venue! Check it:

TOO HOT FOR COMIC-CON…

You are invited to attend the special San Diego screening of PIRANHA 3D footage – several minutes of never-before-seen footage that is so fantastically bloody and so intense, we couldn’t show it on site at Comic-Con!

Presented by director Alex Aja; talent Q&A immediately following the footage. Details below:

Thursday, July 22nd
10:00PM – 11:00PM
PIRANHA 3D footage screening & cast/filmmaker Q&A panel
Location: Regal Horton Plaza
475 Horton Plaza
San Diego, CA 92101

So if you’re in the area my gut is telling me that won’t be something you’d want to miss!

PIRANHA 3-D is set in Lake Havasu, Arizona, when a tremor causes the lake’s floor to open, setting free scores of prehistoric piranhas… Theyre back! Every year the population of sleepy Lake Havasu explodes from 5,000 to 50,000 for a single, wild weekend – the 4th of July, a riot of sun, drunken fun and sex-crazed mayhem. But this year, there’s something more to worry about than hangovers and complaints from local old timers. Havasu sits in the crater formed by a prehistoric volcanic eruption, and when earth tremors tear open a crack in the lake floor, all hell breaks through. Piranhas – a million ravenous, razor-toothed monsters, unchanged since the dawn of time. Unstoppable killing machines acting blindly under one primeval impulse: to hunt down anything that moves and strip it to the raw, bleeding bone. In seconds.

Directed by Alexandre Aja and starring Elisabeth Shue, Adam Scott, Christopher Lloyd, Richard Dreyfuss, Eli Roth, Dina Meyer, Ving Rhames, Jerry O’Connell, Kelly Brook (below), Steven R. McQueen, Jessica Szohr, Riley Steele and Brooklynn Proulx, PIRANHA 3D hits theaters everywhere August 20th!
