I was recently talking with someone (a “Hollywood insider” for lack of a better term) about our mutual love for RATATOUILLE. As we were geeking out animation style, this person asked me if I heard of PLANET 51. It sounded familiar but didn’t know much about it. It’s an upcoming animated film from Sony Pictures about an alien invasion, told from the aliens point of view as US astronauts land on their planet.
This person had seen some footage of the film and came away mightily impressed. I was hoping that Sony wouldn’t give up on animation because I actually thought SURF’S UP was a pretty good movie. So now this PLANET 51 has a teaser trailer and it looks pretty cute (I like the ALIENS aliens reimagined as cute little pets). Check it out below or head to Moviefone to see it in HD.
