Platinum CGI Boner

Man. it’s not everyday I get to use a title like that for a news story… Anyway, Horror-Movies.ca got word that Platinum Studios and The Shop Productions are teaming up to produce an all out CGI horror film.

Yes, you heard me right- a complete CG horror film. The flick’s titled BONESAW, based on the yet-to-be-released graphic novel by Rob Moran. Basically, BONESAW goes like this:

A horror-fantasy writer who discovers that her hit novels are about to release the villain Bonesaw and the other hellish creatures she’s been writing about into our world.

Sounds cool enough, with images of IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS coming to mind, and I can only imagine how cool and visually stunning the film will end up being… but will it be scary? I mean, afterall, it is a horror film. Yet I can’t help thinking of shit like BOOGEYMAN, which was scary until the unveiling of the CG monster at the end- so an entire movie completely animated like that? Hmmmm….

Since we really haven’t seen it before, maybe it’ll work.. but I’m skeptical. Either way, it will probably be a lot of fun, but I don’t think I’ve seen a cartoon yet (because really, that’s what it is- a cartoon) that’s scared me.

Production is set to start on BONESAW early 2006, and should be completed and laid out before our very eyes Fall 2007. So we got just a little while to prepare.

Oh, and because I’m still so proud of myself for the clever title, I thought I’d reward all of you with these tastey, yet totally unrelated, pics of smokin’ hotties. Enjoy!
