It’s the movie that comes out on August 13th with the really cool 8-bit video game adaptation. No, it’s not SCOTT PILGRIM I’m talking about here, it’s actually THE EXPENDABLES. Yes, two movies come out on the same day that both have 8-bit tie-in videogames. Hmmm.
While the SCOTT PILGRIM game has been in development for months and will debut on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in August, the EXPENDABLES game is a more brief, online-style game that is hooked up in Facebook. I went to go play it but you have to “Like” THE EXPENDABLES and agree to have all your personal information (including your friends) shared with the application. I’m a hermit who lives in a shroud of secrecy so I opted out but the game allows you to play as Stallone, Statham or Jet Li and if you beat the game with Li’s character it unlocks a whole bunch of crap.
It may be a fun way to kill some time on a Friday or it could just be a bore. I want you to check it out and report back with your thoughts.
