Darlin' Pollyanna McIntosh Lauryn Canny

One month after the theatrical and VOD release of writer/director Pollyanna McIntosh's film DARLIN', in which McIntosh reprises the role of the cannibalistic woman she previously played in the Jack Ketchum adaptation OFFSPRING and its follow-up THE WOMAN, Dark Sky Films has announced that they will be releasing DARLIN' on DVD and Blu-ray on September 3rd. Copies can be pre-ordered at THIS LINK.

Starring Lauryn Canny in the title role, DARLIN' tells the following story:

Found at a Catholic hospital filthy and ferocious, feral teenager Darlin' is whisked off to a care home run by The Bishop (Bryan Batt) and his obedient nuns where she is to be tamed into a "good girl." However, Darlin' holds a secret darker than the "sins" she is threatened with, and she is not traveling alone. The Woman (McIntosh), equally fierce and feral, who raised her is ever present and is determined to come for her no matter who tries to stand in her way. What follows is an all-consuming fear feast for the senses.

The cast also includes Nora-Jane Noone of THE DESCENT and 12 FEET DEEP, and McIntosh's former The Walking Dead co-stars Cooper Andrews, Sabrina Gennarino, and Thomas Francis Murphy.

I wasn't blown away by DARLIN', I gave the film a 6/10 review and felt that it kind of just sputtered out at the end, but I would be glad to add a copy of it to a collection that already includes OFFSPRING and THE WOMAN.
