Since Steven Soderbergh’s CONTAGION spreads across the land next Friday, I suppose it only makes sense any sort of indie film with a similar premise try to capitalize on the marketing. One such flick comes from Germany, Niki Drozdowski’s EXTINCTION: THE G.M.O. CHRONICLES…for which we have a new poster and synopsis underneath!
Co-written with Drozdowski by Ralf Betz, EXTINCTION: THE G.M.O CHRONICLES picks up in:
Spring 2011. A retrovirus, designed as a tool in gene technology, gets out of control and leads to uncontrollable mutations. All living organisms crossbreed with one another – plants with animals with humans. The result is devastating. In just two days 90% of mankind died, the rest mutated. Only very few people seem immune to the virus and they have to struggle for survival in a now hostile and constantly changing ecosystem.
Daniel Buder, Luise Bahr, Jerry Coyle, Tobias Kay, Lee Rychter, Bina Milas, Christian Stock Klaus Ebert and Nadine Arents make up a large portion of the cast.
