In keeping with the cult movie precedence started by KING BONG, here’s another humdinger! Troma’s long-anticipated, part horror, part comedy, part musical with chickens & zombies called, POULTRYGEIST: NIGHT OF THE CHICKEN DEAD has FINALLY obtained release dates! All I have to say is “Cluckin’-Aye, It’s About Time!”
The destined-to-be-classic, egg-laying flick (which Ammon first told you about eons ago here) has claimed release dates in New York on May 9th and Los Angeles on June 13th. So if you don’t live close to either of these cities, I’d start booking my plane tickets right now!
The plot (like you need to know) lays like this: When the American Chicken Bunker, a military-themed fried-chicken chain, builds a restaurant on the site of an ancient Indian burial ground, local protesters aren’t the only ones crying fowl! The previous tenants, fueled by a supernatural force, take “possession” of the food and those who eat it, and the survivors discover that they must band together before they themselves become the other white meat!
That is just f*cking brilliant! No wonder, it’s directed by everyone’s favorite genre god, Lloyd Kaufman! So ready for some more good news? The POULTRYGEIST cast, which includes Jason Yachanin, Kate Graham (below in a bra), and Allyson Sereboff to name a few, will attend the premiere at New York’s City Cinemas Village East on May 9th alongside Mr. Kaufman himself! Start packing!
