Eric Red and The Arrow, badassin’ it!

Variety
just reported that the $40 million Jan De Bont helmed, Eric Red scripted STOPPING POWER – which stars John Cusack and Jason Isaacs and
that I last wrote about HERE – was, well, stopped
(i.e. cancelled), due to one of the principle backers pulling the plug on essential funding.
Internationalmedia won’t say which of the film’s financiers pulled out but they
did express their desire to take them to court for it.

Red, who if you’ll recall I spent a few days with back in June when he was filming 100 FEET in NY,
had this to say as to the untimely demise of the picture:

“I’m disappointed, temporarily. As everyone in the
film business knows, it can be a tough financing
landscape on every level. This picture has great
people involved, and it’s a pretty damn good script,
so my bet is STOPPING POWER is going to get on the
road again.”

Let’s hope so, because it does indeed sound like an intense balls-to-the-wall thriller, which are in short supply nowadays… Once this badboy gets back into action, we’ll be the first to let you know!
