Donald Faison is getting fitted for a lab coat to play Professor Drake Utonium for The CW's live-action Powerpuff pilot.

Described as quirky, debonair, and a pinch narcissistic, Faison’s Professor Drake is a scientific genius who is immensely proud of the three extraordinary girls he created in his lab. Staring down a midlife crisis, he is determined to repair his relationships with his now-adult daughters.

Meanwhile, the prettiest girls at the party will be played by Chloe Bennet (Blossom), Dove Cameron (Bubbles), and Yana Perrault (Buttercup).

Powerpuff is a live-action series based on the original Cartoon Network animated series created by Craig McCracken. Written and executive produced by Juno’s Diablo Cody and Veronica Mars co-EP Heather Regnier, it is also exec produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden and comes from Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros TV. Erika Kennair produces. Directing Powerpuff is Maggie Kiley, whose credits include shooting episodes for shows like The GiftedCaringRiverdaleKaty Keene, and Dr. Death, to name a few.

Famously known for playing Dr. Christopher Turk on all nine seasons of hit sitcom Scrubs, Faison is also an accomplished voice actor. Throughout his long-standing career, he's voiced characters for such series as Clone High, The Boondocks, SuperMansion, Star Wars: Resistance, Robot Chicken, Vampirina, Blark and Son, and many more. He'll always be Murray from Clueless to me, but I look forward to seeing him as Professor Drake Utonium as well.
