The time traveling sci-fi thriller PREDESTINATION re-teams DAYBREAKERS filmmakers Michael and Peter Spierig with Ethan Hawke in what looks to be a very solid movie. I was not expecting to enjoy this trailer this much and have since placed it on my must-see list for the year. It has touches of LOOPER, MINORITY REPORT and even INCEPTION if I’m reaching; it also has its own slick style working for it as you will see.

Here’s the synopsis followed by the trailer:

PREDESTINATION chronicles the life of a Temporal Agent (Ethan Hawke) sent on an intricate series of time-travel journeys designed to ensure the continuation of his law enforcement career for all eternity. Now, on his final assignment, the Agent must pursue the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time.

Without revealing too much, the trailer definitely has me intrigued. Hawke has always been a lead actor for me and I enjoy watching him even when the material doesn’t match his talent; we may have found a match here though. There is no US date set for PREDESTINATION which also stars Sarah Snook, Noah Taylor, Madeleine West and Christopher Kirby.

Stay tuned for release information and check out the international poster below (it opensin Australia on August 28, 2014)
