After seeing 28 DAYS LATER, and getting into a lengthy discussion with my bro and his friend as to whether you could call those infected with the rage virus zombies or not, it looks as though the discussion is going to heat up again.

Fox Atomic once again dropped us a line to let us know that principal photography began last Friday in London on 28 WEEKS LATER. Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (who also co-wrote the film), the film’s cast includes Robert Carlyle (FULL MONTY, TRAINSPOTTING), Rose Byrne (SUNSHINE, TROY), Jeremy Renner (THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES, DAHMER), Harold Perrineau (LOST, ENTER THE MATRIX), Catherine McCormack (BRAVEHEART, SPY GAME), Imogen Poots (V FOR VENDETTA), Idris Elba (THE WIRE), as well as twelve year old Mackintosh Muggleton, who will be making his feature film debut.

Six months after the rage virus annihilated the British Isles, the US Army declares that the war against infection has been won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin. In the first wave of returning refugees, a family is reunited – but one of them unwittingly carries a terrible secret. The virus is not yet dead, and this time, it is more dangerous than ever.
