Monster movies, or movies featuring dinosaurs or prehistoric creatires seem to be absent in big, popular blockbuster movies over the last few years. Now it’s all about giant robots, but hopefully the latest Hollywood Reporter announcement is a sign of change in that department.
According to THR, Angryfilms producers Don Murphy and John Wells have teamed up to option the novel THE FLOCK by James Robert Smith for the big screen.
What the flock is THE FLOCK all about? The book tells the story of a group of highly intelligent giant prehistoric birds discovered in the Florida Everglades who are intent on protecting their ancient home when faced with encroachment by theme park developers.
Those damn theme park developers! I can’t wait to watch some giant bird creatures f*ck some carnies up. I’m also stoked to check this book out as I’ve never heard of it before, but now that it’s gonna be a movie… I should probably find it and give it a try. Yep, I’m gonna jump on that train and see where it takes me!
The producers are currently out to writers to adapt the novel to the big screen. THE FLOCK has a great title, a cool premise, and the potential to be the next TREMORS. Count me in!
