Glass Bruce Willis James McAvoy Samuel L. Jackson Unbreakable Split

Believe it or not, but it's been seventeen years since the release of M. Night Shyamalan's UNBREAKABLE, and fans have long demanded a sequel to the tale of Bruce Willis' security guard turned superhero, and now, thanks to the success of SPLIT, that day has finally arrived. With SPLIT revealed to be a stealthy UNBREAKABLE sequel, another film was soon announced which would bring back Bruce Willis as David Dunn, Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke to conclude the trilogy. Titled GLASS, the sequel will find David Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

Production on the film officially kicked off today in Philadelphia, and M. Night Shyamalan took to Twitter to commemorate the occasion.

Spencer Treat Clark is also set to reprise his role of Joseph Dunn, the son of Bruce Willis' character, and Charlayne Woodard will also be back as Mrs. Price, the mother to Samuel L. Jackson's Mr. Glass. Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story) has also joined the cast in a new undisclosed role. GLASS will once again be distributed by Universal Pictures, but its overseas release will be handled by Buena Vista International, the foreign arm of Disney, who became interested in the project when Shyamalan approached the parent company about using the UNBREAKABLE characters. Jason Blum, whose Blumhouse Productions will be producing GLASS, recently said that although the film was "kind of a superhero movie," it would also be "very different" to anything which has come before.

GLASS is set for a January 18, 2019 release.
