Star Wars Episode VIII John Boyega Rian Johnson

Production on Rian Johnson's STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII has been underway for several months but it appears that Johnson and company are finally nearing the the end of the epic shoot. Taking to tumblr to commemorate the occasion, Johnson commented that they're "in the home stretch" as he shared a new photo from the set of STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII. The photo appears to feature Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) Jedi robe and, if you look closely, a bottle of water. Thrilling.

John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, and Andy Serkis will all be returning for EPISODE VIII with Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern showing up as new characters. Now that THE FORCE AWAKENS has introduced (and re-introduced) all the major players in the STAR WARS universe, I can't wait to see where Johnson will be taking the series now that it's (hopefully) free to cover new ground.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII will be released on December 15, 2017.
