Production will soon begin on a new Puppet Master movie

I've been a fan of Full Moon since childhood, and while a lot of my favorites of the company's releases came during the '89 to '95 span when the budgets were bigger and they were partnered with Paramount, I've been happy to watch them endure, evolve, and continue to thrive as the non-theatrical B-movie business has gone through major changes over the last twenty years.

By the end of 2015, Full Moon will have added two more movies to their extensive library, sequels to a couple of their most popular franchises; KILLJOY'S PSYCHO CIRCUS and EVIL BONG HIGH-5! Full Moon founder Charles Band is planning to produce ten more features in 2016 and has announced that the first of those will be a new installment in the PUPPET MASTER series, PUPPET MASTER: AXIS TERMINATION.

Details are sparse at the moment, but as the title indicates this one will be wrapping up the World War II era storyline that has run through the previous two PUPPET MASTER films, PUPPET MASTER: AXIS OF EVIL and PUPPET MASTER X: AXIS RISING. Band says that a "very edgy, very hard" script is in place that has a vibe (and amount of bloodshed) similar to PUPPET MASTER III: TOULON'S REVENGE.

Released in 1991, TOULON'S REVENGE has long been considered by many fans to be the best film in the series, but Band feels that AXIS TERMINATION has the potential to be even better.

The series has its ups and downs, but I love the PUPPET MASTER series overall and the announcement of another sequel is always great news to me. I'm always looking forward to seeing the puppets go on bloody new adventures.

The eleventh PUPPET MASTER film in the Full Moon canon and the twelfth if you count the SciFi Channel production PUPPET MASTER VS. DEMONIC TOYS, PUPPET MASTER: AXIS TERMINATION is expected to start filming in January or February.
