Promos for Gore Verbinski’s A Cure for Wellness say we’re all sick

Gore Verbinski A Cure for Wellness

More than a decade after directing the American version of THE RING, with which he showed he could make one hell of a horror movie, Gore Verbinski is finally returning to the genre with A CURE FOR WELLNESS, which stars Dane DeHaan as a man who

is sent to rescue his boss from a European “wellness spa.” He soon realizes he's trapped, and discovers that the facility has a more sinister purpose than just serving the health needs of its patients.

DeHaan is joined in the cast by Jason Isaacs as the facility's aristocratic director, who has dark designs on a patient played by Mia Goth.

It's been over a year since we last received an update on A CURE FOR WELLNESS, during which time the project has been making its way through production and post, heading toward a February 17, 2017 release date. With that day drawing near, two website promo videos have launched, seeming to function as commercials for this strange spa that promises there is a cure for the sickness within us all.

There is also a website for this spa, ACureforWellness.com, where you can receive online treatment through disturbing guided mediation messages that are accompanied by troubling imagery like the sight of a woman spinning around underwater or deer walking through a fog-filled building.

The secrets of A CURE FOR WELLNESS are being kept well under wraps, but these early teases are intriguing and offer the promise that Verbinski's film is really going to get under your skin and mess with your mind. The trailer for the film will debut later this week.
