Promos show The Walking Dead characters preparing to rise up

The Walking Dead AMC

Season 7 of AMC's The Walking Dead began with newly introduced villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) tearing down the group of survivors that the show follows, killing two fan favorite characters and reducing group leader Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) to a quivering mess. For eight episodes, Rick and his people have been under Negan's thumb.

We're at the midway break point of the season now, but when season 7 resumes on February 12th we're going to find that the anti-Negan resistance is gaining momentum. As a new promo image reveals, the theme of the second half of this season is "Rise Up".

Along with this image comes a couple video clips – one a preview of the second half of the season and another a sneak peek of a scene where the character Jesus (Tom Payne) tells Rick and company there's another group of survivors in the area that they weren't even aware of.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC in less than two months now, and I am very eager to see how our "heroes" are going to try to resolve this Negan issue.

Lincoln, Morgan, and Payne's co-stars on the show include Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, Sonequa Martin-Green, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Austin Amelio, Xander Berkeley, and Khary Payton.
