After delivering one of the best comedies of 2019 with BOOKSMART, Olivia Wilde is once again ready to occupy her director's chair for DON'T WORRY DARLING, a thriller that's recently cast Oscar nominee Florence Pugh, Shia LaBeouf and Chris Pine to star.

Pugh is set to lead the psychological thriller which is set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert. In addition to serving as the project's director, WIlde will also star and produce. On scripting duties is BAFTA nominated screenwriter Katie Silberman, who will pen the screenplay based on a spec script written by Shane and Carey Van Dyke. Meanwhile, Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon will produce with Wilde and Silberman, with Catherine Hardwicke executive producing alongside the Van Dyke duo.

DON'T WORRY DARLING is Wilde's third distinct foray into genre after delivering her coming-of-age comedy BOOKSMART, and developing PERFECT, a biopic based on the memoir by gymnast Kerri Strug. The aforementioned adaptation will chronicle Strug's journey to the '96 Olympics, including how she performed in the vaulting event despite having injured her ankle.

When it comes to filmmakers to watch, Wilde is certainly making her way up the list. With stars the likes of Pugh, LaBeouf and Pine joining her latest project, one can only suspect that we'll be in for one hell of a ride when DON'T WORRY DARLING makes its way to the big screen.
