I know I’m not the only motor-skooter out there who’s excited for Eli ‘CABIN FEVER’ Roth’s next gorefest, HOSTEL. Which makes any news about Roth and his pet project newsworhty- especially when Quentin Tarantino’s name is attached to it!
Rue Morgue interviews him in their upcoming issue, and the dude can’t stop talking about it- and who can blame him? He’s about to start shooting his flick based on some sick shit that really happened- and he’s stoked that he’s gonna be able to do “full-on nudity and gore without any interference” . Amen to that, brother! Would we expect anything less from Roth? I don’t think so….
I know, I’m getting to the Tarantino part, hold your horses…
Being da man that Roth is, he was able to get some pointers from one of the better writers out there- Quentin Tarantino! Here’s what Roth had to say about it…
“The coolest f*cking thing was that Tarantino read it [his HOSTEL screenplay] and loved it so much that he invited me to his house and spent a day doing a dialogue polish with me. I couldn’t believe it. He’s been incredibly helpful throughout this whole process, helping me with story, character development and coming up with great ideas. He loves the project and has really encouraged me to get back on the floor and make another down-and-dirty ultra-violent horror film.”
Ah…. We thought we heard the last of Tarantino when it came to horror when rumors of his involvement with THE ULTIMATE JASON VOORHEES MOVIE fizzled- glad to hear he’s involved (if only in suggestions) with this one! Sounds frickin’ sweet and badass to me- and bound to make every last motherf*cker in the room cringe in disgust!
HOSTEL is set to start filming sometime next month. No news on casting yet, but time will tell… oh yes, time will tell…
