Quentin acts, Miike directs

Quentin Tarantino is apparently heading back in front of the camera again, and this time for Takashi Miike. Over at Film Ick (some movies make me feel that way, too), blogger Brendon reports news of Miike’s first ever English language film, SUKIYAKI WESTERN: DJANGO, having the PULP FICTION director star in the film, though to what extent is unknown at this point. Remember, there’s that little thing called DEATH PROOF still being worked on. Speaking of which, in return for the acting role, Miike is directing a mock trailer for DEATH PROOF. Very sweet!

As you can tell from the title of the film, DJANGO is a western film, but with an Asian twist (SHANGHAI NOON, it ain’t). A lot of scouring about on Google has produced a whole lot of Japanese text, so nothing much with regards to info on the film other than this shot of a portion of the cast in movie gear (I’ve blown it up some so you can see it better), as well as some concept art found on Film Ick here. Saddle up and keep an eye out for this one.
