Quest for Don’s DVD

The Dread Central dudes snagged an exclusive shot of the cover art to Don Coscarelli’s ‘lost’ film, SURVIVAL QUEST. The 1989 film starred a bunch of folks like Catherine Keener (her first starring role), Dermot Mulroney, Mark Rolston, Paul Provenza and everybody’s fave, Lance Henriksen, and centred on five strangers from the city who embark on the ultimate wilderness challenge; four weeks in the Rockies. A nasty accident when they cross paths with a paramilitary squad leads to a deadly misunderstanding that has the group of would-be survivalists fighting for their lives.

The film is being given the Anchor Bay treatment, meaning a new digital film transfer, a never-before heard 5.1 audio remix, Coscarelli’s “directors cut” of the film, and a Behind the Scenes featurette with video shot on location in the High Sierras. Not bad for an indie flick, especially when two of Coscarelli’s other films, PHANTASM and PHANTASM 3, come out on DVD the same day this puppy hits (April 10th).
