Quickie movie plots

JoBloJoBlo

In Hollywood parlance, a “logline” is a single-sentence synopsis of a script or story, a “grabber” designed to pique interest (particularly that of an agent or producer). And they can actually be quite difficult to come up with.

The crew over at postmodernbarney.com met the challenge by condensing a long list of well-known movies and TV shows down to one sentence plot summaries — and did it in the most uncomfortable, skewed and politically incorrect manner possible, with some highly amusing results.

Some examples (and a few of my faves):

BATMAN: Wealthy man assaults the mentally ill.

BLADE RUNNER: Man with no apparent skill stumbles into escaped robots, fails to kill most, fucks one.

JUNO: Teen fails to get abortion, ruins lives.

LORD OF THE RINGS: Midget destroys stolen property.

ROBOCOP: Female officer’s incompetence leads partner to be murdered and enslaved by corporation.

SERENITY: Men fight for possession of scantily clad mentally ill teenage girl.

SEVEN: Homicide detectives unable to prevent even a single murder by admitted serial killer, killer gives cop head.

STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE: Religious extremist terrorists destroy government installation, killing thousands.

TRANSPORTER: Repressed homosexual kills employers.

Check out the whole list RIGHT HERE. Thanks to ‘thebutcher’ for the heads up!
