Ray Fisher retracts support for Joss Whedon’s Justice League reshoots

You just know that there's one hell of a book waiting in the wings about the production of JUSTICE LEAGUE, covering everything from the very beginning all the way until the release of the Snyder Cut on HBO Max. Oh, to be a fly on those walls. We all know that Zack Snyder stepped away from post-production on JUSTICE LEAGUE due to a family tragedy, leading Warner Bros. to bring Joss Whedon onboard to rewrite portions of the film and oversee reshoots, which proved to be substantial.

It was an uncertain time for JUSTICE LEAGUE, but during San Diego Comic-Con 2017, Ray Fisher and his fellow cast-members took the opportunity to promote the Joss Whedon version of the film. At the time, Fisher said, "Joss is a great guy and Zack picked a good person to come in and clean up and finish up for him." Well, Fisher took to Twitter today to "forcefully retract" his previous statements.

As Ray Fisher's Cyborg was one of the biggest casualties of Joss Whedon's cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE, it's no surprise that the actor has long been a vocal supporter of the #ReleasetheSnyderCut movement, and with Zack Snyder finally getting the chance to realize his original vision for the film, we'll likely see much more from Cyborg. It was announced last month that Snyder would be bringing JUSTICE LEAGUE to WarnerMedia's HBO Max streaming service next year. "I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality," said Snyder in WarnerMedia's press-release.
