A while back, we heard of a psychological thriller called THE CHAIN, which was directed by David Martin-Porras and starred iconic actors Ray Wise and Adrienne Barbeau. If the project caught your attention when we first reported on it, we have some very good follow-up news to share today: under its new and more intriguing title CHAIN OF DEATH, the film will be getting a theatrical release courtesy of Cleopatra Entertainment on July 19th.

A trailer and poster have arrived online to promote the release and can be seen below.

Co-starring in the film with Wise and Barbeau are John Patrick Amedori, Madeline Zima, Jamie Clayton, Dey Young, and Neus Asensi.

Written by Porras and Andres Rosende, CHAIN OF DEATH tells the story of

Dr. Mike Colleman (Amedori), a brilliant young doctor who’s married to the girl of his dreams while enjoying the big city life. The fairy-tale lifestyle comes to a screeching halt as Mike learns that his mother Emma (Barbeau) can no longer take care of his father (Wise) who suffers from a Parkinson’s Disease-like ailment and whose health is in a downward spiral. Soon Mike learns that he too suffers from the exact same neurological illness as his father and decides to voluntarily enter a “Chain” of assisted suicides in an effort to end his own misery. There’s only one catch – if you want to die, you must kill someone first.

The film was produced by Elisa Lleras.

CHAIN OF DEATH will be receiving a VOD and DVD release on July 30th.

There will be special premiere screenings at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills at 10pm on July 19th and at Theater St. Marks in New York at 8pm on July 19th and 26th. Tickets for the New York premiere can be purchased HERE.
