The teaser trailer for the upcoming horror flick THE SILENT HOUSE hit today, and shiver me timbers! This movie looks cool as hell. Straight outta Uruguay, this is supposedly the first horror film ever to be filmed in one continuous shot. But wait, it gets better… the continuous shot is filmed on a “photo camera,” which I can only assume means a little digital recorder, like a FlipCam or something. Wow.
It doesn’t look like it was filmed on a crappy camera, though–this thing looks amazing! Sure, it appears to be mirroring REC, and the trailer uses the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE-style camera flashbult transitions, but even so… this movie looks cool as f*ck.
THE SILENT HOUSE goes a little something like this: Laura and her father Wilson settle down in a cottage that seems to be off the beaten track in order to update it since its owner will soon put the house up for sale. They will spend the night there in order to start the repairs the following morning. Everything seems to go smoothly until Laura hears a sound that comes from outside and gets louder and louder on the upper floor of the house. Wilson goes up to see what is going on while she remains downstairs on her own, waiting for her father to come down.
The trailer is enough to give anyone the willies, and it appears to be of the highest quality / caliber, so high in fact that I smell an official U.S. remake of this film to be announced any day now. But could Hollywood rock a single 72 minute shot and have it be this awesome? I doubt it.
Enjoy the new trailer below, and stick around for more on THE SILENT HOUSE (aka LA CASA MUDA) as we hear it! For more information on the film, be sure to hit up its Official Website HERE.
