Rectify’s Clayne Crawford locks in a role in Nic Mathieu’s Spectral

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

It seems that Legendary's upcoming supernatural thriller SPECTRAL gets more interesting by the day as it was only yesterday that we learned that STAR TREK's Bruce Greenwood had signed on for a role in Nic Mathieu's feature length debut, and today we've learned that "Rectify" star Clayne Crawford has now locked in a part, set to co-star alongside the previously announced James Badge Dale, Cory Hardrict, and Max Martini in the tale that's been described as a 'supernatural BLACK HAWK DOWN'.

As previously reported, the premise of the project is centered on a modern-day, militaristic and gritty approach to fighting the supernatural. Sources say the pitch has been described as a darker and more serious take on a Ghostbusters-like story, with a plot that revolves around a special ops group formed to bring down evil ghosts that have taken over Manhattan.

Crawford will play Sergeant Calvin Toll, a focused but short-fused military lifer.
