Daniel Craig is set to relinquish the James Bond role after No Time To Die finally hits screens this fall. Due to all of the COVID-19 delays, the film has seen its fair share of new release dates and during all that time speculation continued to build momentum as to who will be the next person to take on the role. Bookmakers continue to give their "Bond odds" on just who will take over the role when Danie Craig turns in his license to kill and now Bridgerton breakout Rege-Jean Page has become the new odds-on favorite to ask for his martinis shaken, not stirred.

Tom Hardy has been a longstanding front runner for the part, according to bookmakers, but Bridgerton elevated Rege-Jean Page's profile to great heights and soon his name began to be included in the mix. Apparently, that momentum has only grown and this has allowed him to surpass Tom Hardy. McMafia star James Norton is another British actor that has also moved up the ranks but Rege-Jean Page has pulled ahead. Despite winning this battle, the war is far from over and there are a number of other potential Bonds that many fans want to be seriously considered.

Rege-Jean Page's lead over Hardy and Norton is minor at the moment so this could certainly all flip. Also just behind them are Luke Evans, Henry Cavill, and Idris Elba. All of these names have come up at one time or another during this whole process but it should be noted that none of these names have been publicly talked about as candidates by anyone from the Bond team. In fact, it has been stated several times that a decision on this won't be made until No Time To Die comes out and has its run at the box office. I'm sure there have been internal conversations about who should take on the role but many of these names have been speculated by fans.

Rege-Jean Page, despite Bridgerton being a huge hit, isn't a household name like some of the other choices and that could possibly work in his favor. A name like Henry Cavill or Tom Hardy could prove to be distracting since they're both so recognizable but it's only my guess that they don't want a huge name to take on the role. It's possible that they could go in that direction. All of this is merely speculation at this point.

Do YOU think Rege-Jean Page would make a good James Bond?
