Relativity Media’s War of the Gods scores gorgeous Slumdog Millionaire star

What if I told you I’m here today to tell you about a ‘battling-Gods’ flick heading our way that isn’t CLASH OF THE TITANS? Would that be something you might be interested in? Read on!

You see over at Variety they dropped word on another ‘Greek mythology clash’ from Relativity Media. The flick is called WAR OF THE GODS and is coming from director Tarsem Singh. Damn… You’d think this is The Asylum’s version of CLASH huh? That’s exactly what I thought! But I assure you it’s not. WAR OF THE GODS is the real deal folks!

Variety also have word that Henry Cavill and the gorgeous Freida Pinto will be starring! Now you may recognize Mr. Cavill (above) from THE TUDORS and Pinto (below) from last year’s hit SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE. Now I dare anyone out there to watch MILLIONAIRE and not fall in love with Pinto. Yup, pretty sure it’s impossible. What an amazing film by the way…

But that’s neither here nor there. I’m here to talk about Gods battling dammit! Which brings me back to WAR OF THE GODS. Check the synopsis: Story follows a young warrior Theseus who leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek gods to defeat evil and the powerful elder gods of the Titans in order to save mankind. Pinto is set to portray Phaedra, an oracle priestess who must join Theseus (Cavill) on his quest to prevent the cataclysmic war from erupting.

Easy enough. Intrigued? Doesn’t really sound like much but I’m down if only to catch another glimpse of Pinto! Score! WAR OF THE GODS comes from a script by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides, which was later re-tooled by Jason Keller. Universal are handling GODS’ release with an April start-date planned. A lot to take in huh? Well if you’re down with CLASH OF THE TITANS it sounds like you’d be down for WAR OF THE GODS as well. What do you guys think? A carbon copy or will GODS stand alone?
