SAW franchise directorial alumnus Darren Lynn Bousman’s upcoming genre-bending science fiction horror rock musical (whew, that’s a mouthful) REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA is currently shooting in Canada and seeing as how we’re lucky to be living in the age of the internets and the YouTubes, we’ve got footage of the film coming from two different directions.
First off, one of the film’s stars, Alexa Vega, is keeping her own little production diary from the set, one of which shows her in her eerie denudated costume below. Secondly, The Bousman was kind enough to show off a little footage at the recent Scream Awards and the folks over at “Shock Till You Drop” managed to ge their blood-soaked hands on it. In the film, in a future where an organ transplant biotech company takes rather terminal measures with people who default on making their new organ payments, a young girl (Vega) with a rare blood disease desperately tries to find a way to save her life and escape the enforcers of the biotech company’s terminal measures, the dreaded Repo Men. All this is, of course, done through high-spirited rock tunes. Paul Sorvino, Bill Moseley, Anthony Head and *shudder* Paris Hilton co-star. The film’s set for release April 25th of next year.
