Return bumped

*UPDATE*: Turns out that there was some confusion with the release date. The North American release date is still November 10th, whereas the international date was the one bumped to January 19th.

Today we received word that Rogue Pictures’ supernatural thriller THE RETURN (which stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Peter O’Brien, Sam Shepard, Erinn Allison, Johnny Bartee and Kate Beahan) has been bumped back from its original November 10th release date. Instead, the film gets to open up the dreaded month of January of next year. January 19th, to be exact.

As most film fanatics know, the early months of the year as usually reserved for studios dumping projects that they really don’t have much faith in (BLOODRAYNE, BIG MOMMA’S HOUSE 2, WHEN A STRANGER CALLS, and so on). I don’t know if Rogue has lost any faith in the film (though the first clips would make you think otherwise), and it would seem kind of weird that they’d bump the date back that far (if they pull a PULSE, then we’re in trouble). Hopefully reasons for the bump appear soon. In the meantime, head for the official site.
