We got a heads up today that a little British horror indie flicked titled REVERB started filming a few weeks ago, and judging from the cast and the story, it sounds like one that deserves a little looky-loo.
Starring Leo Gregory and Eva Birthistle (pictured), and directed by first time director Eitan Arrusi, REVERB tells the story of a struggling musician trying to get his rock’n’roll dreams back on track and an old band-mate who scores him a backhand deal to use a recording studio. Alone, locked in overnight, he samples an old record with a terrifying voice hidden in the music. As more frightening events occur, the band try to unravel the truth behind the hidden plea on the record leading to a life or death battle with evil.
Sounds like a good mix between PULSE (but with a music spin) and that freaky shit that happens when you play an Ozzy Osbourne record backwards… or so I’ve been told. REVERB is said to combine elements of THE SHINING and THE CONVERSATION together, which happens to be two movies that totally rocked my socks off.
Currently filming in London, REVERB has the music talents of Jack Knife Lee for the films score and as producer Mark Mannion puts it:”Despite the attractions of cheaper Eastern European locations we chose London because of the quality of crew and amazing talent pool of actors not to mention the exciting and ever-changing backdrop that is London.”
