Ringers on TV

A few weeks back we heard whisperings that David Cronenberg’s DEAD RINGERS was going to be made into a television series. Today, via Variety, Cronenberg confirms that he is, in fact, developing a TV series for HBO based on his flick!

Wesley Strick (CAPE FEAR) is scripting the pilot episode, and Cronenberg himself is going to be in the director’s chair! It’s on HBO, so they can be as extreme as they want, and Cronenberg’s directing? Sounds too good to be true!

No word if Jeremy Irons is going to be reprising his role as the insane twin brother gynecologists, but I have a feeling Cronenberg’s going to be using a fresh, young buck for the role this time around. Can’t wait!
