Roadkill: Caitlin Carmichael to play anti-hero called Driver in thriller

Caitlin Carmichael played a role in the 2017 crime thriller Wheelman, which had Frank Grillo in the lead role and played out almost entirely within the confines of one car. Now Carmichael is taking on driving duties herself in her latest film, as Deadline reports that she has signed on to star in writer/director Warren Fast’s thriller Roadkill. Carmichael will play the film’s “multi-layered anti-hero”, known only as Driver.

Roadkill centers on

a young woman riding the back roads of a rural county whose quest for justice is derailed when she gets caught up in a law enforcement manhunt for a fugitive killer.

Sounds interesting to me.

Warren Fast is producing the film alongside Stacie Fast, through their company Mythic Pictures. John B. Bennett and John Karanfilovski are also producers on Roadkill.

In addition to her role in Wheelman, Carmichael has been in the television shows Dwight in Shining Armor, DeputyThe Good DoctorThe MickYoung Sheldon, Agent Carter, SuburgatoryCriminal Minds, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. She was recently seen in director Randall Emmett’s thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass, where she co-starred with Megan Fox, Bruce Willis, Emile Hirsch, Lukas Haas, and Colson Baker (a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly).

Fast, who has the perfect last name to be making a movie called Roadkill that has a lead character called Driver, previously directed the drama Finding Grace, which was released last year.

While the film’s IMDb page suggests that genre icon Danielle Harris is also in the cast (and I really hope that’s true), there haven’t been any other official announcements made about Roadkill just yet. We’ll keep you updated as the project continues to move forward.
