It’s no secret that Universal are teaming with Rob Zombie for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. We actually told you about that shite back at the beginning of July. But what exactly does Zombie have in store for us? That’s what I’m here today to tell you all!
The guys over at Noise Creep recently talked to the man himself and asked what he and Universal were cooking up for us. It seems Zombie has given his permission for Universal to use characters from his 2003 film ‘House of 1,000 Corpses’ for this year’s Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights. What does that mean? Well apparently it will include new mazes inhabited by ‘House of 1,000 Corpses’ characters such as Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), Otis (Bill Moseley), Mother Firefly (Karen Black) and Killer Karl (Chad Bannon). Zombie and other top artists are acting as consultants on the mazes, ‘scare zones’ and ‘backlot experiences,’ in which Zombie’s movie monsters will literally leap out at the park’s visitors. Oh and did I mention this is all going to be in 3D? Well it is. Check out a bit of what Zombie had to say:
“When you think about it, it’s pretty cool and ironic since that’s the studio that originally made the movie, but never released it [because they thought it was too disturbing]. And now we’re back in the park doing this attraction. But it’s great and they’re putting a lot of work into it, so it’s going to be really awesome. …. Universal is doing it in 3D, so you’ll wear glasses as you go through,” Zombie said. “And they’re doing full makeups on everybody in the house and all of the characters from the movie. It’s gonna be pretty amazing.”
Now HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES was entertaining and all but I’m not sure if it’s the type of flick that deserves all of this. What do you guys think? Would you be stoked in checking out HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES at Halloween Horror Nights or could you care less? Be sure to hit us with your thoughts on all of this below!
Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights kicks off in late September so we’ll be on the lookout for more updates popping up for the event in the next month. As always be sure to keep it here for all the goods as we hear them!
