We are very surprised that there has been little to zero talks about remaking, rebooting, or plain old continuing the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET saga for the big screen or the small.
And this puzzles us here at AITH.
That said, people are staying on top of the man who made Freddy the icon he is today, Robert Englund on any potential remake/reboot news. And while the man doesn't have any further news for us on another NOES flick, he did name-drop his pick for the new Freddy should the occasion arise.
Robert Englund on Kevin Bacon:
Well the gossip I've heard, and I don't know how valid this is, but there has been some talk about using, or perhaps he's been approached, Kevin Bacon. Yeah. I think that would be great. He's in one of my favorite little horror movies, Stir of Echoes, and you should check it out if you haven't seen in. And I just think Kevin's the right size. I think he respects horror movies. He doesn't make fun of them. I think it would be real interesting.
Kevin Bacon?! Nice. I'm down for Kevin Bacon putting on the fedora and red and green sweater and stalking teens in their dreams! And we all know Bacon is more than willing to give the role a go.
