Like Radcliffe, this R.Pattz fella is doing all he can to shed the prepubescent image…

After playing a seedy millionaire in COSMOPOLIS, word is Robert Pattinson will soon star opposite Carey Mulligan in HOLD ON TO ME, a kidnap thriller for Indian Paintbrush. Oscar winning documentarian James Marsh (MAN ON WIRE) is set to direct, in a deal made leading up to next month’s American Film Market.

Written by Brad Ingelsby:

HOLD ON TO ME is based on a true story about a femme fatale who with her boyfriend kidnaps and ransoms the town’s richest man. They bury him in a box and things go horribly awry. Pattinson plays the flashy supporting role of the woman’s life love, Jimmy, who isn’t involved in the crime.

Kidnap? Ransome? Things going horribly awry? Definitely sounds like our brand of booze, yet with such a pedigree, I do wonder how “genre” it will actually turn out to be. Seems like the A-list talent may buck b-movie convention and make this more of a straight drama. Which would be a shame!

What do you think? Given the plotline and talent involved, is HOLD ON TO ME a movie you want to hear more about as it nears production?
