Robert Rodriguez shares on set photo with Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Yesterday was STAR WARS Day ("May the Fourth Be With You") and the special occasion brought with it some exciting STAR WARS news. Not only did Taika Waititi officially get confirmed as a co-writer and director for a new STAR WAS project but director Robert Rodriguez was also confirmed as director for season 2 of Disney+'s The Mandalorian.

The filmmaker confirmed the news himself by tweeting a photo with who he dubbed as "the biggest star in the universe", Baby Yoda. You can check out the tweet below:

Season 2 of The Mandalorian has already wrapped and is set to premiere in the fall but Disney+ is beginning to release little tidbits about who and what to expect from the second season. There is speculation that Rosario Dawson and Jamie Lee Curtis could be joining the cast while Michael Biehn and Bill Burr have been confirmed. They will be joining returning stars such as Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, Nick Nolte, Julia Jones, and Ming-Na Wen.

Robert Rodriguez is best known for a rather impressive filmography. The director has given us such flicks as FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, DESPERADO, THE FACULTY, SPY KIDS, PLANET TERROR & SIN CITY. I'm personally loving the talent that The Mandalorian is bringing together and I can't wait to see what he does with his episode.

Are YOU excited to see Robert Rodriguez behind the camera on season 2 of The Mandalorian?
