Robert Z’Dar sets out to stop Easter Sunday eggsecutions in new trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Described as a "goofy, bloody" throwback to the campy and gory slashers of the 1980s, writer/director Jeremy Todd Morehead's EASTER SUNDAY is set to make its world premiere at the Bright Box Theater in Winchester, Virginia as part of the Four States Slasher Con on October 16th. In anticipation of this event, a trailer for the film has been released and can be viewed below.

Synopsis:

It has been 24 years since the deranged serial killer Douglas Fisher was executed by police on Easter night. This year, a group of hard-partying teenagers not only raise some hell, but literally raise the dead! The teens accidentally conjure the spirit of Douglas Fisher… AKA the bunny masked killer! These teens have until midnight on Easter to stop the evil bunny slasher, or he will tear their town – and everyone in it – to pieces.

The film stars the late, great horror/B-movie icon Robert Z'Dar, who we sadly lost earlier this year. EASTER SUNDAY is dedicated to his memory. Z'Dar's co-stars include Morehead, Edward X. Young, Shawn C. Phillips, and the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise's first Jason Voorhees, Ari Lehman.

As you can see in the trailer, "goofy" is definitely a very accurate description for the tone of this one. I'm not sure if its type of humor will be for me, but my love of '80s slashers combined with the presence of Z'Dar and Lehman has me interested in checking it out. I wish the filmmakers the best of luck at the Four States Slasher Con screening.
