Robocop: remake

About two months ago we heard whisperings that ROBOCOP was up on the chopping block for a remake (check that out HERE). Then about two weeks ago the rumblings of a remake turned to being an actual sequel (check that out HERE). So what’s the scoop today? Looks like ROBOCOP is going to be remade after all…

According to The Hollywood Reporter, MGM is planning on remaking ROBOCOP, or more specifically, They (MGM) also confirmed that 1987’s “Robocop” could resurface in a new version.

Ok, so there’s a shred of hope with the “could” thrown in there, but that doesn’t really make sense why they would confirm a possibility. Seems to me they confirmed that it’s going to happen, and that “could” was only thrown in to make them look better if the deal falls through down the line.

I guess we shouldn’t be so surprised… I mean, the flick just hit its 20 year anniversary last year, so I guess it was up for a remake. Although, no matter what those f*cks say, it will never live up to Paul Verhoeven’s masterpiece blend of comic book action and extreme violence.

To check out the full scoop, including the other 80s classic that’s up for a remake (a personal favorite of mine), go ahead and click HERE, and stick around for more news and details on this blasphemy of a remake as we hear it.
