Or perhaps he’s licking his wounds after the underperforming ANONYMOUS. Just a thought…

Either way, you all recall that mysterious Roland Emmerich project called SINGULARITY he opted to make instead of ASTEROIDS? Well, not even 24 hours after the announcement of a new ASTEROIDS scribe, Emmerich has decided to delay production on SINGULARITY to further flesh out on the script.

Emmerich may be doing the right thing here, as the master of bloated spectacle, he’s already got a $175 million budget for SINGULARITY. With a previously planned March 2012 production start making way for a May 2013 release…a new timetable will now have to be put in place for the epic sci-fi thriller.

As for the previously roiled story, here’s a new logline, courtesy of THR:

SINGULARITY focuses on a young man whose body is made up a swarm of nanobots, giving him all sorts of powers at the same time as it brings unwanted attention from an evil corporation.

Sounds intriguing, I suppose. I’m getting an instant TOTAL RECALL vibe, if only for that evil corporation business. Guess we’ll see how it all plays out…later than sooner of course.
