Roland Emmerich may direct White House Down for Sony

JoBloJoBlo

Out of all the films that Roland Emmerich has directed, I probably only like three. He’s big on disasters that might cause the world to be in peril. That’s why I was surprised by ANONYMOUS.

In news that isn’t so surprising, Emmerich is thinking of helming WHITE HOUSE DOWN. Yes, that’s the title.

Sony Pictures bought the spec script from writer James Vanderbilt (ZODIAC, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) for $3 million last week. Vanderbilt is a little hit or miss for me as well. The title alone makes me skeptical. The film is an action-drama that focuses on, “a paramilitary takeover of the White House” and has been compared to DIE HARD.

If Emmerich takes on the project, this will be his next film then after it, he will direct SINGULARITY.
