Whether you love his work or you hate it, there’s no denying Roland Emmerich’s stuff is entertaining. I mean who doesn’t want to watch the world end? Over… and over again… Alright, so he’s kind of obsessed with the apocalypse. But it seems Emmerich is widening his range a bit with this newest project coming from ABC.

You see Variety are reporting that Emmerich and Mark Gordon Co. are teaming for an untitled drama series over at ABC. What exactly is this project? Check it:

Set in New York City, the story is set against the backdrop of the presidential race of 2012, when a young astrophysics student learns his destiny lies not in science but somewhere between heaven and hell.

I can dig it. Emmerich will be directing the pilot episode, which he penned with Harald Kloser.

Now unfortunately that’s about all we’ve got on this one right now but I can definitely see some potential in there. What says you guys? You willing to give this one a chance or are you waiting until we see more? Spit some bullets below and let us know as we wait for more on this untitled Roland Emmerich project.
