Those lucky bastards at Dread Central got the scoop that George “nobody does zombies like me” Romero has just signed to direct Stephen King’s novel FROM A BUICK 8, One word: f*cking awesome!

Adapted by John Schaech and Richard Chizmar, the novel involved a mysterious Buick in an abonded shed behind the sheriff’s office, a Buick with generations of sercrets. If you haven’t read it, you really should- great book, and it’s relatively a quick read. Can’t wait to see what Romero’s gonna do with it!

With collaborations that include THE DARK HALF and CREEPSHOW behind these two masters of horror, and the perspective THE GIRL WHO LOVED TOM GORDON, I have a feeling BUICK is going to be the grade A horror film we’ve been waiting Romero to do as his LOTD follow up. Yee-Haw!
