The folks over at Bloody-Disgusting got a staffer into a workprint screening of the new flick RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 4: NECROPOLIS. Sounds overall like possible good times, though in a funny rather than scary/gory way. One major downside is the apparent lack of attention to franchise detail on the part of the filmmakers.
Says the BD reviewer: I think that the writers should have watched the first movies in the series because they made a big mistake. The heroes were KILLING the zombies with bullets (and even by snapping their necks) THE ROTLD ZOMBIES CAN’T BE KILLED BY BULLETS!!!!!
I’ll never understand, once you get three or four movies deep into a series, why filmmakers often jettison aspects of the franchise to appeal to a wider base. Who, other than the the fans exactly, do they think is still watching at that point?
Oh well, at least we’ve got another zombie movie to check out (it’s been almost three days since a new one popped up I think). And it’s never a bad thing when Peter Coyote is back in service. Check out the full review here.
